Nashville Library Curriculum Kit – South America

Did you know that the Nashville Library has pre-made curriculum kits available to borrow?

If you like piecing together your own curriculum for unit studies or you are looking to add in a little something fresh to your rotation, these boxes are worth checking out!  With selections like the Human Body, Community Helpers, Art History, Plant Biology, there is a little something that works with many different topics and ages.

In order to rent a specific curriculum kit, it’s best to place a hold on it through your library account.  You can select which library branch it will go to and that branch will contact you once the kit has arrived.  Pick up the kit at the front desk and be ready for a huge, heavy box!

Last month, we checked out the South America Kit.  We have been studying through a different continent each month and this kit fit in quite nicely with our plans for September.  It included a main workbook guide, 25 additional books, and 4 DVDs.

 Teacher Resource Workbook:

4 Videos-

  • Jeff Corwin Experience: South America

  • Mystic Lands: Peru Kingdom in the Clouds

  • Families of the World: Brazil

  • Geography of South America

We enjoyed looking through the colorful country books and copied a few pages from the teacher manual.  This box was targeted towards a bit older age range than my kids, but we made it work with our plans.

We are fortunate to have such great resources with the Nashville Library.
